subsonic.aero is a spin-off idea following many years of research and development carried out at the University of Manchester and elsewhere for the past 20 years. It brings together, under a single umbrella, considerable aerospace engineering experience, multi-disciplinary simulation and experimental tools, industrial consultancies, CPD training portfolios, industry data intelligence, and a wealth of professional networks and peer-review expertise. This business aims to provide measurable contributions to sustainability in aviation.
The founder, Prof. Antonio Filippone, from the Department of Mechanical, Civil and Aerospace Enginereering at Manchester, leads this consultancy. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society of London and a Fellow of the Institure of Mechanical Engineers. He has contributed 3 textbooks, 10 book chapters and about 140 scientific and technical papers. He can be found on Google, Linkedin, ResearchGate, ORCID and of course at the University of Manchester, where he is a passionate teacher on rotorcraft engineering and all things that rotate fast.
