subsonic.aero is a spin-off operation following many years of research and development carried out at the University of Manchester and elsewhere for over 20 years. It brings together under a single framework considerable aerospace engineering experience, multi-disciplinary simulation and experimental tools, industrial projects, CPD training portfolios, aviation data intelligence, a wealth of professional networks and peer-review expertise. 

The founder, Prof. Antonio Filippone, from the Department of Mechanical, Civil and Aerospace Enginereering at Manchester, leads this consultancy. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society of London and a Fellow of the Institure of Mechanical Engineers. He has contributed 4 textbooks, 12 book chapters and about 160 scientific and technical papers. He can be found on Google, Linkedin, ResearchGate, ORCID and of course at the University of Manchester, where he is a passionate teacher on aerodynamics, rotorcraft engineering and aircraft performance.
